The following countries were represented: DRC, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. All of them are directly involved in ongoing campaigns and initiatives aiming at challenging coal m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ining, oil exploitation, extractive projects or championing style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the first four days of the workshop, we presented Afrika Vuka, an upcoming campaigning platform connecting citizens, struggles and groups around the continent working to building a future that\u2019s free from the destructive impacts of the fossil fuel industry. <\/span><b>Five case studies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.savelamu.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kenya,<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bargnyditnonaucharbon\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Senegal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Ivory Coast, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/350africa.org\/thumamina-dbsa\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Afrique du Sud<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> et au <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/climatereality.co.za\/zero\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Africa Climate Reality Project <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">were shared to give an in-depth understanding of such campaigns in terms of recent developments, successes, challenges, next steps and how regional support and global amplification can boost such struggles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Though the programme was rather packed, we managed to create <\/span><b>open sessions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to discuss some of the emerging themes, notably learnings from our past organising experiences and safety in organising, where we identified some of the common threats and risks experienced on the ground by participants. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Practical sessions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on digital organising, storytelling, shifting the media narrative, building last relationships with reporters, planning and organising a successful day of action, research-based campaigning, engagement pyramid. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" 400\">\u201cBrainstorming, storytelling and interactive workshops were my favourite part to share experience and knowledge,\u201d says Asmaa Hanafi, one of the participants from Egypt. \u201cIt was interesting to let each group present their success story to divest fossil fuels.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We look forward to the upcoming moments as we continue to grow
