The Presidential Election Voting Starts In:Days Hours Minutes Seconds
Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem Preservation-GIFSEP with support of 350 Africa in partnership with Activist for Climate Justice Coalition are calling on all Nigerians to vote for Climate in the 2023 General elections.Climate Action is critical to the survival of democracy and for sustainable development. We are worried! We are so worried that Climate Change is under-represented in the campaigns for the 2023 general elections so far.
In the lead up to the elections, we are encouraging people across Nigeria to engage political parties to know which ones have serious plans to take on the fossil fuel polluters and ensure a just transition to 100% renewable energy — and which ones will only speak vaguely about the reality of the crisis without committing to take the bold action science and justice demand.
What action would you like to take?
I’d like to know what these political parties are planning for the climate
I’d like to post a photo/video in support of #Vote4Climate
We put together a guide that has a summary of the 6 political parties in the country, their positions on topics like climate change, energy and water as stated on their manifestos.
It is not a ranking guide but rather an awareness-raising guide which seeks to encourage open dialogue with the political parties rather than confrontation.

It's simple — the elections are the opportunity for our voice to be heard by those who hold positions of power about issues that affect the majority of the population.
No more stalling, no more delays: it’s time for a fast and fair transition to 100% renewable energy for all.
The climate crisis is an emergency. We have to act like it and show politicians how many people in Nigeria are unwilling to sit on the sidelines anymore.
Leave your details here and we will be in touch guidance and lots of resources to help you organise your community, your workplace, your friends to join the #VoteForClimate movement and make this a turning point in history.
