On September 16th, the Government Science and Technical College school in Abuja received the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award 2019, ahead of the long-awaited Global Climate Strikes.
This group is amongst several eco-clubs that were formed by GIFSEP, an environmental group based in Abuja, Nigeria that is part of the regional coalition of 350 Nigeria. Earlier this year, this school participated in the Parachutes for Climate event during the AfrikaVuka launch, a regional mobilization day for climate justice.

This September, students and teachers of the Government Science and Technical College will be joining other schools and youth groups in Abuja, nationally and globally to call out the leaders of Nigeria to step up and lead the way to climate justice.
With the guidance of 350 Nigeria, they will be holding the #Abuja Environmental Festival combining climate action and celebrating strides the youths have made towards ensuring climate justice where adults and leaders have previously failed.
